Dhofar 1170

Achondrite, Ureilite (AURE)

I found this wonderful meteorite in Oman Jan 16 ,2005.

Dhofar 1170 was a single complete stone weighing 501 grams. It is a Ureilite. It cuts easily, but is very difficult to polish. It also has

very large crystals.

These slices are only lightly polished, as full polishing makes the unique crystal structure hard to see.
All pieces of this meteorite will include a photo of the specimen in the ground in Oman as seen below.
