Dhofar 485

HOWARDITE (AHOW)

The Dhofar 485 Howardite meteorite was found in January, 2001 by a Russian meteorite hunting expedition in the Oman desert. Four pieces of this meteorite totaling only 1,558 grams were found. It is classified as a Howardite, shock level 4, weathering level 2.  Since then, several more stones were found by the same meteorite hunters.

 

Dhofar 485 #1: 56.72 gram complete individual. $800.00

This is a very nice complete stone, nice old fusion crust and on the top, where the sand has abraded most of the fusion crust off, you can see nice Eucrite and Diogenite clasts.
