NWA 1942

This Howardite is without a doubt the most beautiful that I have ever seen. It is very compact and solid, unlike many Howardites which are soft. This one polishes perfectly and is comprised of alot of inclusions of all types of meteorites. Two stones were found in 2001 with a total known weight of only 476 grams. The following information is from the classification description. "Coarse-grained (diogenite clasts up to 12 mm); clast modes: diogenites, 83% volume, granular eucrites, 8%, basaltic eucrites, 2% and shocked clasts 7% Diogenitic pyroxenes. Shock level S2 and just slightly weathered.
