The Brainard meteorite is an iron, (IIIAB) Medium octahedrite. The meteorite was found before 1978 in Butler County, Nebraska USA. A single mass of 138.3 kilograms was ploughed up in a field. The entire meteorite was purchased by the Vienna Museum of Natural History in Vienna Austria. Some of the mass has been subsequently traded out to a German collector from whom I acquired this specimen.
