Half stone from the Monnig Collection, TCU

This L5 meteorite fell on February 12, 1875 at 10:15 pm in Iowa County, Iowa. A shower of over 100 stones fell with a total weight of ~227 kilograms. I acquired this piece in trade direct from TCU for an endcut of the Lowicz, Poland mesosiderite. This specimen is over 120 years old but looks like it fell a few moments ago! It is one of my favorite pieces.
